Staten Island Community, Interfaith and Long Term Recovery Organization’s (LTRO) Light the Shore Resiliency Walk, Service of Remembrance and Candlelight Vigil

  • 6:30 p.m. Resiliency Walk starting at the Dolphin Fountains at Father Capodanno and Sand Lane, South Beach, Staten Island
  • 7 p.m. Service of Remembrance, Midland Beach Picnic Grounds, Father Capodanno between Midland and Lincoln avenues
  • 7:30 Light the Shore Vigil, Along the Boardwalk from Midland to South Beach

Staten Island volunteers, recovery organizations, faith leaders, and elected officials will join the community October 29 for the third annual Light the Shore Resiliency Walk, Service of Remembrance and Candlelight Vigil. 

The commemoration will begin at 6:30pm with a resiliency walk from Sand Lane to the Midland Beach picnic area at Lincoln Ave. The Service of Remembrance and the ‘Light the Shore’ Candlelight Vigil by the water will include a somber reading of the names of the 23 Staten Islanders who perished in the storm. Faith, Volunteer and Elected leaders will recognize the strength of the community, and acknowledge ongoing recovery efforts.
